PURSUING GREATER ALIGNMENT BETWEEN TRADE AND SUSTAINABILITY

Pursuing Greater Alignment between Trade and Sustainability

TIDE recently co-hosted a high-level event in Santiago, Chile, titled “Pursuing Greater Alignment between Trade and Sustainability”. From Ministers of Trade, leaders from international organisations, and academic and civil society researchers, the event brought together over 80 participants from across Latin America and beyond.

At the heart of the event was a shared urgency to align trade policies with climate action and broader sustainability goals, especially in the face of geostrategic, economic, and political challenges. TIDE researchers Baptiste Albertone  and Amir Lebdioui presented, for the first time, the findings of our new research programme on coordinating green industrial policy at the multilateral level, offering fresh insights into how international cooperation can drive sustainable and inclusive development.
