ENERGY TRANSITIONS: JUST AND BEYOND LAUNCH

TIDE mark the launch of the Alameda Institute’s new dossier on energy transitions.

On 28 May, the TIDE Centre hosted the launch of the Alameda Institute’s new dossier, Energy Transitions: Just and Beyond. The event gathered researchers, students, and practitioners for a power conversation on how to reframe the global approach to energy transitions.

The discussion challenged conventional narratives focused solely on carbon targets, using a shift towards more just, democratic, and systemic responses to the climate and ecological crises. The panel featured Amir Lebdioui, Director of the TIDE CEntre alongside, Juliano Fiori,  Director of the Alameda Institute, and Sabrina Fernandes, Head of Research at Alameda. Together, they explored how public ownership, democratic governance, and a rethinking of development models are central to achieving meaningful and lasting energy transformations.
