Industrial Policy in Mexico: Governance Mechanisms and New Transformation Possibilities

The Oxford México Industrial Policy Co Lab invites submissions for a new call for papers on industrial policy, innovation, and economic transformation in Mexico.
The call focuses on how Mexico can respond to global changes such as trade fragmentation, climate transition, and technological change. Key topics include trade wars and global value chains, political economy and governance of industrial and green policy, technology innovation and diffusion, and sectoral strategies, policy instruments, and financing mechanisms.
Papers may focus on Mexico or include comparative perspectives. We welcome qualitative and quantitative research, as well as sector level and firm level studies. Submissions are open to early career researchers, senior academics, policymakers, and practitioners.
- Abstracts of 750 to 1,000 words are due by March 1, 2026.
- Authors will be notified of acceptance in early April 2026.
- Selected authors will be invited to a workshop in Mexico City in late May 2026.
- Final papers will be published in October 2026.
Selected papers will be published open access in Spanish and English as part of the University of Oxford’s TIDE Working Papers series.
